Export market analysis of different types of excavators, January-December 2023

For the export market as a whole, the sales of small excavators declined, the growth rate of large excavators was the highest, and medium-sized excavators were basically the same as in 2022. In 2023, the cumulative export of excavators amounted to 105,038 units, accounting for 53.9% of the total sales of excavators, which was 4,419 units less than the same period of last year, down by 4.04% year on year.

Among them, the cumulative export of small excavators was 53,775 units, decreasing by 12.2% year-on-year, accounting for 51.2% of the export market, a share of 4.8% lower than the same period in 2022. Medium-sized excavators exported a total of 32,612 units, a year-on-year increase of 1.28%, accounting for 31% of the export market; large excavators exported a total of 18,651 units, a year-on-year increase of 16.53%, accounting for 17.8% of the export market, with a share rising by 3.2% compared with the same period in 2022.

The growth of large excavators was the highest, with a year-on-year increase of more than 60% in April and May 2023, and the cumulative export of products of 40T and above was 6,185 units, with a year-on-year increase of 29.4%.
