Chinese electric loaders’ penetration accelerates, sales exceed 10,000 units in Jan-May

China Construction Machinery Association data shows:
Total loader sales reached 10,535 units in May, up 7.24% YoY.
Jan-May cumulative sales hit 52,755 units, up 14.1% YoY, with five consecutive months of YoY growth.

Domestic Market:
6,037 units sold in May (+16.7% YoY), four consecutive months of rapid growth.
Jan-May cumulative: 29,607 units (+25.4% YoY), driven by accelerating major projects nationwide. Orders for some enterprises are scheduled through the third quarter.

Export Market:
4,498 units exported in May (-3.31% YoY).
Jan-May cumulative exports: 23,148 units (+2.39% YoY), second only to 2023’s same period sales, indicating strong global demand.

Explosive Growth in Electric Loaders
Sales Data:
2,765 electric loaders sold in May, a 121% YoY surge.
Jan-May cumulative: over 10,000 units (+179% YoY), penetration rate exceeding 20%.

Model Distribution:
5-ton (1,756 units, 63.5%) and 6-ton (798 units, 28.9%) models dominate.

Growth drivers include falling lithium battery raw material prices, stricter environmental regulations, and key technological breakthroughs. Penetration is expected to hit 30% in 2025.
