China's excavator sales up 18.1% in first 3 quarters

In the first three quarters of 2025, China’s excavator sales reached 174,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 18.1%. Among them, domestic sales stood at 89,900 units (up 21.5% year-on-year), and exports hit 84,200 units (up 14.6% year-on-year).

In September alone, excavator sales totaled 19,900 units, rising 25.4% year-on-year. Exports in the month reached 10,600 units, a significant year-on-year growth of 29%. Additionally, the average operating hours of excavators in September were 62.7 hours, with an operating rate of 54.5%, both slightly lower than those in August.

Leading enterprises achieved outstanding overseas performance. In the first half of the year, Sany Heavy Industry recorded 26.302 billion yuan in overseas revenue (up 11.72% year-on-year), XCMG 25.546 billion yuan (up 16.64% year-on-year), and Zoomlion Heavy Industry 13.815 billion yuan (up 14.66% year-on-year). 

The overseas revenue of leading manufacturers accounted for over 45% of their total revenue, and the gross profit margin gap between overseas and domestic businesses was up to 9.29 percentage points.
