China’s excavator sales grow 18.5% in Mar, domestic market surges 28.5%, Q1 sales up 22.8%

According to statistics from the China Construction Machinery Industry Association (CCMIA) on major excavator manufacturers, in March 2025, a total of 29,590 units of various excavators were sold, representing a year-on-year increase of 18.5%. Among these, domestic sales reached 19,517 units, up 28.5% year-on-year, while exports stood at 10,073 units, a year-on-year increase of 2.87%.

From January to March 2025, cumulative excavator sales amounted to 61,372 units, a year-on-year growth of 22.8%. Domestic sales during this period totaled 36,562 units, surging 38.3% year-on-year, while exports reached 24,810 units, a 5.49% year-on-year increase.

In March 2025, 15 electric excavators were sold, including 3 units under 6 tons, 1 unit in the 10 to 18.5-ton class, 9 units in the 18.5 to 28.5-ton class, and 2 units of 40 tons or above.
