China’s excavator & loader exports decline in Feb y-o-y

According to the statistics of the China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA) on major manufacturing enterprises of excavators, 12,608 units of all kinds of excavators were sold in February 2024, a year-on-year decrease of 41.2%, with 5,837 units domestically, a year-on-year decrease of 49.2%, and 6,771 units exported, decreasing by 32% compared to the same month a year ago.

Meanwhile, in February, the sales of all kinds of loaders were 6,495 units, declining by 32.6% year on year. Among them, 2,763 units were sold in the domestic market, down by 50.4% year on year; 3,732 units were sold for export, dropping by 8.44% year on year.

In addition, in the first two months of this year, the cumulative sales of excavators totaled 24,984 units, and 13,726 units of them were exported; the cumulative sales of various types of loaders totaled 14,297 units, and 7,790 units of them were exported. The export ratio of both types of machinery exceeded 50%, and the overseas market has gradually become the mainstream market for Chinese construction machinery brands.
