China’s excavator and loader sales continue growth in July; construction machinery industry shows prominent recovery

Excavators:

July 2025 Performance: A total of 17,138 excavators were sold, representing a year-on-year (YoY) increase of 25.2%. Among them, domestic sales reached 7,306 units (YoY +17.2%), while export volume stood at 9,832 units (YoY +31.9%).

Jan-Jul 2025 Cumulative Performance: Cumulative sales of excavators hit 137,658 units, up 17.8% YoY. Domestic sales accounted for 72,943 units (YoY +22.3%), and exports reached 64,715 units (YoY +13%).

Electrified Models: 9 electric excavators were sold in July.

Loaders:

July 2025 Performance: Sales of loaders amounted to 9,000 units, with a YoY growth of 7.41%. Specifically, domestic sales were 4,549 units (YoY +2.48%), and exports reached 4,451 units (YoY +13%).

Jan-Jul 2025 Cumulative Performance: Cumulative loader sales from January to July totaled 73,769 units, a YoY increase of 12.8%. Domestic sales stood at 40,171 units (YoY +20.4%), while exports reached 33,598 units (YoY +4.85%).

Electrified Models: 2,391 electric loaders were sold in July.

The industry’s recovery is jointly fueled by two key factors:

Domestic Demand Rebound: Domestic market demand has maintained momentum even during the traditional off-season (“no slack season in off-season”), supported by robust infrastructure investment (e.g., large-scale investment in water conservancy projects) and policies promoting equipment renewal.

Overseas Export Expansion: Export markets have achieved steady growth, with outstanding performance in countries participating in the “Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI). Chinese construction machinery products, leveraging their competitive pricing and high-quality after-sales services, are gradually increasing their global penetration.
