Indonesian machinery group predicts sales & demand for heavy machinery to decline

Hexindo Adiperkasa (HEXA) reports a decline in demand for heavy machinery in Indonesia. In 2023 (April 2023 to March 2024), sales of 7-ton Hitachi excavators reached 12,400 units, below the expected 15,000 units, marking an 8% decrease.

The decline in sales is linked to fluctuations in commodity prices such as coal and palm oil. For 2024 (April 2024 to March 2025), sales of 7-ton excavators are expected to drop by another 7%, with net profit increasing slightly by 2%.
