According to data from the China Construction Machinery Industry Association (CCMA), in March this year, China’s excavator sales amounted to about 25,000 units, down by 2.34% year on year. Among them, excavator sales in the Chinese domestic market came to around 15,000 units, increasing by 9.27% from the same month a year ago, while excavator sales to export markets totaled nearly 9,800 units, down by 16.2% year on year.
In the January-March period this year, China’s excavator sales amounted to nearly 50,000 units, falling by 13.14% from the corresponding period a year ago, including about 26,000 units in the Chinese domestic market, declining by 8.26% year on year, and about 24,000 units to export markets, a year-on-year decrease of 17.9%.
In March 2024, 12 electric excavators were sold, including 8 units below the 6-ton class, 1 unit 10-18.5-ton class, 1 unit 18.5-28.5-ton class, and 2 units above the 40-ton class. Meanwhile, the operating hours of Komatsu excavators in China were 93 hours, falling by 10.8% year on year but soaring by 228.62% month on month.
